About Me

Hello, I’m Jake and I’m an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor. I trained at CPPD London, on its BACP-accredited, Advanced Diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling.

I believe that therapy is a powerful way to heal the hurt, pain and trauma from your life and help you cope with what’s going on in the here and now. I like to work relationally and creatively with a focus on solutions and coping mechanisms to things like panic and anxiety, but at the same time, working with you to find out what causes the panic and anxiety in the first place.

Before my graduation, I was a volunteer counsellor for the LGBTQ+ helpline, Switchboard, for over 5 years and through the charity, Talkzone. I have worked with children, young people, and adults.

Together we will help you (and your partner if working in couples counselling) to explore old scripts, attachment styles and work to understand why we do the things we do.

I believe that when we understand the things that we do and why we do them, we can come to a place of change or find happiness in acceptance.

Through my practice, I work collaboratively with those who are living with a range of challenges and issues including childhood traumas, bullying, anxiety, depression, sexuality, sexual health issues, gender dysphoria, trust issues, men’s issues and relationship woes with careful and gentle exploration to find a pace and counselling style that best works for you.

I also offer couples and relationship therapy, and I am keen on facilitating honest and explorative communication between partners.

As a member of the BACP, I adhere to its ethical framework, engage in regular supervision, and participate in numerous continuous personal development studies (CPD).
