PLATFORM 8

Why does the lady with the wooden dog, sit on platform 8 and cry?

Why does she wrap herself up in plastic bags and shout obscenities at me?

Does she cry for the son, she lost twelve years ago?

Does she cry because he was late on platform eight

And never came home?

Joe sits in his lorry cab and drives nine ‘til nine

While at home his son grows old and his wife has taken to the bottle, the bottle

Does he cry because he doesn't seem to see his son grow old?

Does she cry as she falls asleep in the bath?

The son - crying in the background

Why does the boy with the pointy ears sit up in his room and cry

Surrounds himself with airplanes and stars up on his roof

Does he cry because he feels he can’t get past this point?

Does he cry? Does he cry? Does he cry? Does he cry?
